EicosaDerm

It gives me great pleasure to introduce EicosaDerm, another unique veterinary product. After observing scientific papers, market demands and personal requests from some of you, we are bringing the highest dosage of omega 3 fatty acids to the veterinary market. EicosaDerm is closest to the current recommended dosage at 360 mg of Eicosapentaenoic acid and 240 mg Docasahexaenoic acid per 20 lbs of body weight. No longer will Doctors need to triple, quadruple or more the dose of current ethical products on the market to get results. No longer will Doctors need to send the client to the drug or health food store for fish oil caps. EicosaDerm is available now at a price which is more than competitive with drug and health food stores, yet in a product designed and labeled for pets and only available through veterinarians.

EPA is recommended at 180 mg/10 pounds per day for chronic inflammation including pruritus, allergy, derm, arthritis, cardiac, behavioral, kidney, bladder, pancreas and cancer cases. This dose is a component to all of my Pruritic Clinical Trials. EicosaDerm is the first veterinary product that adequately fills this need.

Jane Schaefer wrote us "Our dog had surgery two years ago on one of his ears due to Malassezia Otitis. Two months later, the bumps and infection were back and since spread to the other ear. Medication prescribed did not work. A month ago, the vet informed us that he can't have too many more shots. Even though the ear canal was so swollen, the vet said nothing else could be done for him, except to "make him comfortable". My daughter looked up on the internet and obtained your product. It has worked wonderfully. The infection is ninety percent gone and the inflammation has gone down. We can now see his ear canal and some of his hearing has even come back. If you need any recommendations for your product, you can always contact us. This is a miracle to us, because we were at our wits end."

Yada, Yada, Yada

Before leaving the US for Australia, LISA LORENZINI and I visited the UC/Davis vet school derm department where we enjoyed pizza with PETE IHRKE and CATHERINE OUTERBRIDGE, other residents, staff and the students. When it comes to value, a designated parking space there should be an important issue in determining whether to take a job.

JIM and SUE ADAMS of VETGROUP in Australia prepared a meeting my 2nd night Sydney which I delivered semiconsciously, due to the jetlag, to distributor sales reps. We then met up with Jim at the Australia Veterinary Association meeting in DARWIN, the gateway to the Outback. It was special to visit with RALPH MUELLER and SONJA BETTENAY-MUELLER (Colorado State) so far away from the USA while they were lecturing on dermatology for 4 out of 5 full days. Another familiar face was KERSTI SEKSEL, who gave a behavior seminar.

In Darwin, we took a quick trip to Crocodylus Park where the crocodiles "appeared" to be closer to dead then sleeping. There were many signs about how quick they are. Even so, when we walked by a fence away from our group, one took a leap at Gloria who was quite thankful for the fence. Although guides told us that this was very unusual, I know she can make any species quite angry in a short time.

Darwin to MELBOURNE is over a 4 hour flight. Exemplary of the generous nature of the people there, Dr. RICK WALDRUCK owner of Microchips Australia (Trovan microchip distributor), was kind enough to use his Qantas points to upgrade me into the comfortable business class section. His able-bodied sales manager, JANE FRANKLIN and Rick, always the pioneers, have been instrumental in driving the Urban Animal Management agenda to the advantage of both animal owners and the profession in Australia.

In Melbourne we visited with GREG BURTON, dermatologist and his residents, DAVID ROBSON and REBECCA BASSETT. So far, no one has mentioned the Australian wine. Greg gave me a bottle, which I am saving but, overall, I was very impressed with the quality and value of Australian wine. My last night in Melbourne, I did another seminar for the distributor reps which was attended by Greg, David and Rebecca.

BRIAN OAKLEY of Provet and, my host, JIM ADAMS, had a golf match using the Stapleford method. The DermaPet USA/Provet team prevailed. I'm not sure exactly how far south we went to play but I thought I saw Penguins.

While we were carousing about in AU, JACK WHITE and GARY BOUGE covered the Central Veterinary Conference (CVC) in Kansas City. Nothing against KC but, you can see one of the perks of owning the company is choosing which seminars to attend. KEN KWOCHKA (LA, CA!) visited after mentioning us in his seminar. PETER EMILY also had kind words about our DentAcetic.

Congratulations to TOM ROGEN of Burns who had a hole-in-one on the 7th hole on August 23 at Rock Hill Golf Course, NY.
