180 mg EPA per 10 lbs
Fatty acids usage need to be clarified. Current thinking has omega 3 fatty
acids being recommended for inflammation of any tissue. The dose of 180 mg EPA/120
DHA per 10 pounds of pet is still the current recommendation. Of course, we
are quite fortunate to have EICOSADERM, which is the only ethical veterinary
product to offer precisely that dose. Clients do have the option to go to the
pharmacy to purchase a generic fish oil cap, although giving 1 cap for every
10 pounds can lead to a memorable experience when dosing an uncooperative, perhaps,
fractious pet. And, the dose is DAILY.
Yada, Yada, Yada
Daughter JESSICA and I observed MARTY BECKER do a Good Morning America segment
on cat care. He moved around like he was the star of the show, introducing us
to everyone there including CHARLIE GIBSON who is from my hometown.

I ran into MARTY BECKER again the following week at the SUMMIT FOR INDUSTRY LEADERS organized by Banfield. The focus was cat care AGAIN! The top people from most major companies were invited. For example, the CEO of the MORRIS ANIMAL FOUNDATION, PATRICIA OLSEN, LAWRENCE HEIDER (American Assn of Vet Colleges) and the top people from most dog food companies including FRANK MARS, JUSTIN SKALA (HILLS) and OLIVER AMICE (ROYAL CANIN) and pharmaceutical companies participated.
DermaPet2 and I then went to Germany to visit with our friends at ALBRECHT and new friends from EUROVET. It was good for my need to drive fast that dermapet2 was not completely clear on how to convert km/hr to mph and, well, I may have misguided her slightly on that subject. In between meetings, we visited the medieval, walled city of Rotenberg for their annual festival where they celebrate the day when one of their leaders drank 3 gallons of beer in one sitting lest he fail and have his city destroyed. It seemed like just another reason to drink beer and celebrate to most observers. Then we went to Munich where dermapet2 found the nudity in English Park to be quite fascinating.as were the amazing beer gardens.
Katrina
The heart-wrenching tragedy of Katrina has led all to reflect on what is truly
important. We donated products and cash directly to LSU, who will best distribute
it. We also made other donations to others who personally visited and/or assisted
in MS or LA. I encourage those of you who still wish to donate to do so.

We had a vet call to tell us about using TrizEDTA for calcifying keratitis.
It is suggested to add an appropriate antibiotic such as gentocin and gas sterilize.
The TrizEDTA will chelate the minerals as well as synergize the antibiotic.

Eicosacaps New Name For OFA Caps Plus EZ-C and Garlic
EICOSACAPS will be the new name for the OFA Caps Plus EZ-C and garlic. This is our omega 3/6 version very similar to DermCaps except we also have the antioxidants (Vitamins E and C) plus zinc and garlic.
We are proud to announce KlearWax, a potent cerumenolytic, degreasing, dewaxing product containing Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate (DSS) and Urea Peroxide. DSS emulsifies wax and debris. Urea Peroxide is a foaming agent to break up larger clumps of debris. This product is recommended for in house cleansing to clear away debris enabling better visualization of the otic canal and TM. It is available in a 4 ounce size in an applicator bottle.

In particular, note that MalAcetic is 87% and 88% effective against Malassezia and, at .5% MalAcetic is effective against Staphylococcus while at 1% is effective against Pseudomonas. Note: that the 2% strength provided by our MalAcetic Otic and the rest of the MalAcetic line is what you have been relying upon. Now, for those sensitive, inflamed, pruritic or erythematous cases, you can use a gentler product with hydrocortisone.
