To a 4 ounce bottle (112 mL) of TrizEDTA, TrizPLUS (+.15% chlorhexidine) and
TrizULTRA (+.15% ketoconazole), add 1200 mg of antibiotic (Marbofloxin, LA Baytril,
Gentocin and Amikacin are examples that have 100 mg/ml injectable formulas that
can be added).Most ear experts shy away from aminoglycosides due to their reported
ototoxicity. Thus the flouroquinolones are most popular.
Resistance as reported on Culture and Sensitivity: Most resistance is based upon absorption of systemically administered antibiotics which do not reach high levels in the ear. The levels they do reach are measured in micrograms per ml whereas topically administered antibiotics in this formula deliver 10 milligrams per ml. Further, volume being a key component to successful therapy, most experts recommend twice daily (BID) treatments using .5-2 ml in each ear for each treatment. Some experts fill the ear to overflowing.
TrizPLUS +.15% chlorhexidine is used in severe drug resistant and previous treatment failures.
TrizULTRA +.15% ketoconazole is used when Malassezia or another fungal organism
(Aspergillus, etc) is present. Some people use it in animals that have a history
of repeated Malassezia infections even though the main objective is to kill
a gram negative organism (Pseudomonas or Proteus).
CORTICOSTEROIDS: Anti-inflammatories may also be added, in some cases, although
many experts prefer to use systemics to achieve adequate effect. Add 40 mg of
Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate (be careful to use this water soluble form) to
a 4 ounce (112ml) bottle.
IMPT NOTE: When adding fluid to a full bottle, it is prudent to remove some
of the original fluid from the bottle first. After adding the desired amount
of antibiotic and/or corticosteroid then add the original fluid back to fill
the bottle.

NEW PRODUCT: Mal-A-Ket (1% keto, 2% acetic acid and 2% chlorhexidine) is now
in a WET WIPE as well as the new Shampoo.

Mediocrity (Golf) Cup where Lou noticed that I
appeared to be suffering from Rabies (commonly named
hydrophobia). It appeared that every time a shot
occurred near where water was in play, fear of it
forced me to make a bad shot. The evidence was in the

Previously, we showed how our LIME PLUS Dip has 29% more lime sulfur than the new LymDip. The new LymDip is a much weaker formula that has not survived the test of time (neither for efficacy or stability). Despite their citing literature, there is not one refereed publication supporting the use of this substantially diluted product. There also is reason to believe that fragrances used in this product (the addition of which required the dilution from a 97.8% like LimePlus to 76.9% in LymDip) will cause contact irritation/dermatitis.
