Shampoo Topical Therapy

There are many variations to use DermaPet products. The following includes suggested protocols.

FREQUENT BATHING:  DermaLyte Shampoo followed by DermAllay Spray as often as daily. A pet that has inhalant allergies should be bathed as often as possible to remove the source of the allergic reaction. Can also use MalAcetic Shampoo & Spray and DermAllay Shampoo frequently though not recommended daily.

DRY BATH (ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH SKIN FOLDS AND PREDISPOSED TO YEAST OR BACTERIAL DERMATITIS):
a. Everyday use: MalAcetic Wipes.
b. With Inflamation: MalAcetic HC Wipes.
c. With Active Infection: Mal-A-Ket Wipes.

MILD PRURITIS: DermAllay Shampoo or DermaLyte Shampoo followed by DermAllay Spray. Can precede and/or follow topical therapy with DermAllay Spray in any pruritic animal. Can prime with DermAllay Shampoo and/or finish with DermAllay Spray using any topical protocol. With localized inflammation/pruritis: MalAcetic HC Wet Wipes. Can use MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo and/or MalAcetic ULTRA Spray with more intense pruritus.

SEBORRHEA SICCA (DRY SCALY): Treatment is up to the pet. When it gets dry scaly it should be repeated. In some cases, odor is the guide.
a. DRY, SCALY, NON-PRURITIC: DermaLyte Shampoo. Rinse then use MalAcetic Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray/MalAcetic Wipes or DermAllay Spray.
b. DRY, SCALY, PRURITIC: DermAllay Shampoo. Rinse then use MalAcetic Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray/MalAcetic HC Wipes or DermAllay Spray.
c. DRY, SCALY, VERY PRURITIC: DermAllay Shampoo. Rinse then use MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo. Rinse and follow MalAcetic ULTRA Spray. Can also use MalAcetic HC Wipes.

SEBORRHEA OLEOSA: Treatment is up to the pet. When it gets oily it should be repeated. In some cases, odor is the guide. In cases where shampooing the pet is impractical/difficult use MalAcetic Spray or MalAcetic Wipes as often as daily. DermaBenS Shampoo is designed for the oily pet.
a. OILY, NON-PRURITIC: MalAcetic Shampoo. Rinse and follow with DermaBenS Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray/MalAcetic Wipes.
b. MILD OILY, PRURITIC: DermAllay Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Shampoo. Then use MalAcetic Spray/MalAcetic Wipes or MalAcetic HC Wipes.
c. SEVERE OILY, PRURITIC: MalAcetic Shampoo. Rinse and follow with DermaBenS Shampoo. Then use DermAllay Spray and MalAcetic HC Wipes or MalAcetic Wipes.
d. VERY PRURITIC, MILD OILY: MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic ULTRA Spray. Can also use MalAcetic HC Wipes.
e. VERY PRURITIC, VERY OILY: MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo. Rinse and follow with DermaBenS Shampo. Then use MalAcetic ULTRA Spray. Can also use MalAcetic HC Wipes.

HOT SPOT: Clip hair around the lesion. MalAcetic Shampoo or MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo the full body. Rinse then MalAcetic ULTRA Spray. Use MalAcetic HC Wipes or spray with MalAcetic ULTRA Spray daily. Can also use MalAcetic Wipes daily if not pruritic.

PODODERMATITIS:
a. MILD BACTERIAL, FUNGAL INFECTION, PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT: MalAcetic Wipes, MalAcetic Spray.
b. MILD BACTERIAL, FUNGAL INFECTION WITH INFLAMMATION/PRURITUS: MalAcetic HC Wipes.
c. BACTERIAL, FUNGAL INFECTION: Mal-A-Ket Wipes.
d. BACTERIAL, FUNGAL INFECTION WITH INFLAMMATION/PRURITUS: MalAcetic Ultra Spray.
With all above can also soak feet with like shampoo for 5 minutes and then rinse. MalAcetic Shampoo, Mal-A-Ket Shampoo, MalAcetic Ultra Shampoo. TrizCHLOR 4 Shampoo & Spray can be used.

PYODERMA: In cases where shampooing the pet is impractical/difficult use MalAcetic Sparay or MalAcetic ULTRA Spray.  Can also use MalAcetic Wipes, MalAcetic HC Wipes and Mal-A-Ket Wipes as indicated. Use MalACetic Shampoo, Mal-A-Ket Shampoo or MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo (if pruritus). Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray or MalAcetic ULTRA Spray (if pruritus). TrizCHLOR 4 Shampoo & Spray can be used as well, especially in cases of resistant bacterial infections.

MALASSEZIA:
a. MILD INFECTION/BREEDS PREDISPOSED TO YEAST: MalAcetic Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray. Use MalAcetic Wipes daily and then as needed.
b. GENERALIZED/DIFFUSE INFECTION, PRURITUS: MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo., Rinse and follow with MalAcetic ULTRA Spray. Use MalAcetic HC Wipes as needed.

RINGWORM: LimePlus Dip. Can also use Mal-A-Ket Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic Spray. Use Mal-A-Ket Wipes daily as needed. Can also use MalAcetic ULTRA Shampoo. Rinse and follow with MalAcetic ULTRA Spray.
